The Cardio Queen Who Needed LESS Cardio πŸ‘‘

She came to us doing what so many women think they need to do when they want to lose fat…

MORE.

More classes. More cardio. More calories burned. More pushing. More doing.

And here’s the kicker: she’s a group exercise instructor herself. She was teaching 4–6 classes a week, working in the fitness industry, and STILL felt stuck, tired, achy and HANGRY.

So what did she do?

She tried teaching MORE.

Because apparently when your body is already waving the white flag, the obvious answer is to beat it with more cardio. πŸ˜‚

She wasn’t seeing the muscle definition she wanted, her weight had gone up, and like a lot of women, she started wondering if hormones were to blame.

What she actually needed was a better strategy.

We helped her fuel her body, accurately track her food, prioritize protein, strength train with true progressive overload andβ€”probably the hardest part for a fitness instructorβ€”stop trying to out-cardio everything.

And look what happened.

She’s down 12.5 pounds, 2 inches through her chest/back, 4.5 inches from her waist and 3.7 inches from her hips.

But one of our FAVORITE parts?

She went from eating 1,743 calories to 2,120 calories.

Yep. More food. Less body fat. More definition. More energy.

She’s no longer binge eating in the afternoons. She doesn’t need that afternoon nap. Her clothes fit differently, her cravings have changed, she feels stronger, and she’s learned how to eat foods she actually enjoysβ€”including dessert.

THIS is why we say coaches need coaches too.

Knowing a lot about fitness doesn’t mean you can always objectively see what your own body needs. Sometimes the woman working out the hardest is the one who needs to learn that doing MORE isn’t the answer.

If you’re over 40, exercising your ass off, eating less and wondering why your body still isn’t responding… maybe you don’t need more discipline.

Maybe you need a different strategy.
